Submission should present new, original research that focuses on ONE of the six tracks:
- Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design – together for climate resilience
- Architecture for human resilience and well-being (including e.g., biophilic design, nature-based solutions, climate adaptation strategies for buildings and spaces)
- Analysis and methods for resilience and sustainability (e.g., new design and simulation tools, evaluation methods)
- Re-thinking resilience through renovations and adaptations of buildings and spaces (including cultural and natural heritage retrofitting, methods to improve performance of existing buildings and spaces)
- Building resilience with innovation and technology (e.g., innovative materials and sustainable technologies)
- Together we can – think, learn, teach and take the leadership (e.g., education and training, environmental activism)
We have received an impressive number of long papers, most of them representing very high quality. PLEA 2024 will open the floor for top class presentations, exciting discussions, technical sessions. Please meet our amazing KEYNOTE SPEAKERS and learn about our hosting city WROCŁAW and the Conference venue.
We are thrilled to announce that Society of Building Science Educators (SBSE) will review the best papers written by Master Students and PhD Candidates to select the bests of the bests and grant Jeffrey Cook Student Travel Award for PLEA 2024. The papers will be nominated by the PLEA 2024 Scientific Committee, no action from the authors is required at this point. Self-nominations are not accepted. If your paper is selected by SBSE, we will contact you by e-mail.
Please note that all contributions must strictly follow the instructions in FINAL PAPER TEMPLATE (download above).
We expect to receive final version of your long papers by 25 April 2024. The only acceptable format for this conference is the 6-page paper that must be prepared in PLEA 2024 Final Paper Template (download above). Remember that final paper submission must be made through the PLEA2024 event management system https://plea2024.pl/conftool
Please note that no guarantees can be given for oral presentation of a paper until the receipt of the final version of long paper and its final approval by the Scientific Committee. Completed registration of at least one participant per each paper is mandatory. If the paper is prepared solely by the students or PhD candidates, all authors are automatically eligible for discount. If the paper is developed by a research team (including mixed teams with students / PhD Candidates / junior and senior researchers / supervisors etc.), at least 1 full payment is required for such team (it does make any difference who is the first author and who will present the paper). The registration of the first person in the team always entails “full registration payment” (in person or on-line, early bird discount applies, student/PhD discounts do not apply for the research teams) and the second depends on the status of the participant (students’ discount apply for the second, and third registered person representing the team). Please note that the registration payments must be received as on invoice. If Banking/PayPall costs were deducted from the invoiced amount, our financial department will contact you with an exact information on the amount that still needs to be covered.
All approved final versions of long papers will be published on a USB-memory stick handed out with the conference documents at PLEA 2024. Authors are fully responsible for their papers, which should not have been published elsewhere. They must have taken the necessary steps to obtain permission for using any material that might be protected by copyright. The publication of long paper requires your registration at the PLEA 2024 Conference in Wrocław. For each accepted paper, at least one presenting author has to register for conference participation, otherwise the contribution will not be considered in the conference proceedings.
